The Manitoba Centennial Centre District Plan builds new connections between city and river, institution and street. This transformation of Winnipeg's primary cultural corridor draws inspiration from its 1961 origins while responding to contemporary urban life. The plan creates pedestrian territory between landmark buildings—Concert Hall, Museum, Theatre Centre—turning spaces between venues into stages for public life. Through strategic design moves, barriers become thresholds and parking lots become plazas. Here, cultural institutions extend their mission beyond walls into a shared public realm where art and daily life intersect.
