The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (RMTC) seeks a 14,000-sf Black Box Theatre seating 300 for experimental theatre and film. Proposed west of RMTC, this space would connect RMTC with the Pantages Playhouse, creating a cohesive “theatre street.” This addition allows both theatres to share workshops, loading, and admin spaces, streamlining operations. Linking the theatre lobbies forms an “indoor street” alongside Market Avenue, a winter-friendly public space. The Black Box Theatre would also be a rentable venue for small concerts and arts events, enriching Manitoba’s arts community.
